Isla de Terranova, the trawler built by Nodosa Shipyard for Pesca Baqueiro S.A., has already begun the first sea trials. The ship, with 49.9 meters in length, sailed yesterday along the Ría de Pontevedra and reached the south of Ons. Delivery is scheduled for September and the ship will fish in NAFO.
It is a modern vessel adapted to the characteristics of said NAFO fishery, which incorporates the most modern technologies also in deck machinery for fishing, with trawl winches of alternating current controlled by latest generation variable frequency converters.
Its lines and forms of the bow work have been studied for the best behavior in navigation and therefore a very low resistance to the advance of the ship is achieved which results in an optimal and low fuel consumption and will be more respectful with the environment ambient.
Nodosa Shipyard is a shipyard dedicated to the construction, modification and repair of all types of vessels with metal hulls up to 150 meters in length, as well as industrial manufacturing in general.

On January 19, 2015, the company formalized the acquisition of the Factoria Naval de Marin shipyard (FNM), which includes both the facilities and the concession of land use, and also the ownership of the historic shipbuilder and its Marin brand of luxury yachts.
